It sucks that religions that should have brought us together are just tearing us apart right now

Some religions only preach that for people who are believers in that religion.. So it's one policy for the religious community and another policy for the unbelievers...

In any case even within religious communities people being people will often fall short of being good towards their own community..

Don't get me wrong.. It is good for people to be part of a religion that teaches them to get along with their neighbours.. It often makes then not as bad as they would be without having been preached too.. But humans being human will always fall short of the ideal standards
