Crusade Prayer (134) To believe in the Existence of God

O God the Most High, help me to believe in Your Existence. Cast all of my doubts aside. Open my eyes to the Truth of the life after this one and guide me towards the way to Eternal Life. Please let me feel Your Presence and grant me the Gift of true faith before the day I die. Amen

@pentagrammom Well to be honest it takes even greater faith to believe the origin of matter resulted from a spontaneous non-originating source, than to believe it came from an intelligent designer with how sophisticated and extremely well ordered everything is. One day all will know the truth!

@Lushiro Your basic premise is flawed that we choose to have faith in a spontaneous non-originating source (by which you mean the Big Bang). Not all atheists believe in the big bang. Many just admit to not knowing and being happy with that. Even the ones who believe the big bang don't have faith in it. If new evidence or understandings emerge to challenge those beliefs we allow them to be challenged and adapt our beliefs. It takes the opposite of faith to do that, it takes the understanding that our best explanations may still be incomplete or wrong.

But then let's get to your other premise. Things are not well ordered. Life of all kinds on this planet are designed in extremely inefficient ways. Cancers and diseases and deformities arise all the time. There is a vast universe and yet we haven't found any other life. Why is there so much to support so little? Why is the rest of the universe and in fact huge swaths of this earth so hostile to life as we know it?

Your intelligent designer is rather lacking.

@ViciDraco As its been explained for centuries by many apologists. The reason for the distortion of creation is due to sin. But despite this God can still be clearly seen in nature and the universe. God created the human race out of love so we could enjoy Him forever.

He created everything and had his hands tied because eve ate some forbidden fruit before he got to doing anything serious with the rest of the cosmos? 🤣
