Not sure religion address them ... also do we know who made it?

@sstronaut that's really what I'm asking - how does religion account for ancient monuments?

Stonehenge was built by ancient Britons, but the question applies to all ancient monuments throughout the world.
@SpudMuffin Yeah, I guess I'm unaware if they do address it, other than to say you will not worship other gods.

Briton (to my limited knowledge) probably wasn't around yet when it was built and we have no idea how it was built, just like a lot of the ancient things.

@SpudMuffin Well, I know Christianity doesn't account for them. In particular, the biblical literalists who think the world is only 6000 years old can't account for them at all. You should hear those people squawk when it's pointed out that the Sphinx is older than recorded history. We don't actually even know who carved it originally, just that someone had a vision of the statue buried in the sand, excavated it, and carved a human face on it. That's how frigging ancient it is.
@LordShadowfire My understanding is that the latest believe is that it one was a full Lion pointed to the Leo in the sky or something along those lines.

But they believe groups later carved up the Lions head to make in Egyptian pharaoh's face added onto it. Which is why the head is smaller than the body currently.

@sstronaut I watched some TV special like 20 years ago. It was wild. I have no idea how accurate any of the stuff in the special was, but supposedly, after it was carved with the lion head, it was overtaken by the sand and lost, and then rediscovered.
