Of course. Imagine what it was like inside the ark. The begging and crying, the fear they felt and heard from those they knew outside of the ark. And what we didn’t know is if the innocent suffered needlessly. I mean, we aren’t God and we weren’t there. Sometimes rest is given to the innocent without suffering. We also seem to assume that this was not a painful act for God.
It’s good to remember that we are not always going to be rescued out of the situation we are in, but if we ask God will carry us through.

@nonsensiclesnail that is true, maybe/hopefully He made it so that the innocent didn't feel pain or fear, they just slipped away peacefully. I do believe it was painful for God to do so, even the Bible says something about him feeling sorrow in his heart when He seen how evil mankind had become. He didn't want to, only did what was best
