Every religion can be practiced benevolently. Every religion can be practiced violently. It is up to the practitioner to decide if an idea brings or takes away peace.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
Any religion or permutation thereof that puts Mankind as the center of all Creation and the Universe itself.

@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays Do not stop until the last man praises Allah is repeated several times in the Quran.

Allah ahkbar is stated by Muslims commiting acts of terrorism because the Quran condones anything they do as long as it's in the name of Allah and to advance Islam.
goodlil666 · 51-55, MVIP
@jshm2 maybe you can't read ? Do not stop until the last man praises Allah ? Sound familiar? Allah ahkbar ?? As long as it's done in the name of Allah it's all good.

Christianity and Islam.

Any religion that has a focus on exclusion, intolerance, and claims to be the only “true religion.”

@22Michelle No the majority of Americans are NOT fundamentalist Christians. Christianity is by far the dominant religion in the USA , but within that are over 200 denominations of Christianity. So yes Christian religions have a large influence on American politics and policy but America is still a secular government.

To suggest that the violence in America is taught and coming from the churches is absurd . I don't believe any one issue is the cause of our high crime rate but much more a product of numerous socio-economic issues like collapse of the nuclear family, and it's influence on our youth, unemployment rates, availability of gainful employment , drugs and alcoholism, prevalence of gang cultures , racial/ social misunderstanding as well as others.
22Michelle · 61-69, T
@goodlil666 I never said violence was taught and / or coming from churches. However, to state that religion has no part in the socio economic issues you point to is to indulge in deflection. Whilst the USA is supposed to have secular Government the influence of religion has been immense and, if anything has grown in the past 40 years or so. Would you deny that without the organised voting bloc of fundamentalist christians the Governments of the last 40 years would be very different? If Trump wins the Presidency it will be largely dependent on that bloc.

@CursedFurudeRika Yeah I agree
GeniUs · 56-60, M
Religion is just an excuse for people to do as they want and not take responsibility for it whether it be violence, theft, slavery, etc and what better person to blame than supposedly the most powerful being ever who cannot be questioned?
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
All of them lol.

American children are not taught to hate in public schools from the time they start. Yet in many Islamic schools " Death to America" is like the pledge of allegiance used to be in USA.
goodlil666 · 51-55, MVIP
@sree251 maybe you don't know this but America is a secular country. And your " protects itself from cultural depredation " fits right into the Quran teaching of " do not stop until the last man praises Allah. That openly shows islams intolerance to any other religion.

Muslim governments / countries are so much more advanced and free/ open than America right?

I don't see hoards of people trying to immigrate to ANY Islamic country....do you?

If America is such a terrible place why is it that more people migrate to America every year than the next 4 top migrant destinations combined? ??

I will take living in America with our high crime rate over living in, and under ANY Islamic government anywhere in the world as I am sure 99% of Americans would.

No, I don't know at all that America is secular whatever that means. There are churches all around me and in every American town and city I visit. Christian cemeteries are everywhere.
22Michelle · 61-69, T
@goodlil666 Having many friends and relatives living in the USA , and working in thd oil industry, ive2 spent a faie amount of time in various parts of the USA. What always struck me was the the utterly amazing number of churches, the number of people who were openly fundamentalist christians (who seem to ignore the New Testament, so how can they be Christians?), the impact socially and politically way above any European country. I do know that church attendances have been falling, but the churches still hold great sway both socially and politically. Politicians in the USA have to be seen to be religious. It is therefore right, I would say, to question whether there is a connection between that religious teachings and the violent crime figures within the USA.
QueenandCrown · 41-45, F
Any that has violent people in it
sree251 · 41-45, M
Humanism: the belief in democracy, freedom, and human rights. This religion has displaced Christianity regarded as the most violent up till WW2.
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
tRump’s false version of Christianity, of course!

jehova · 31-35, M
Historically or currently?
jehova · 31-35, M
@jehova further islam like christianity can be used to inspire violence. All religions are inherently peaceful. And in general are intended to bestow peace and satisfaction on its followers. People sre violent is religion?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@jehova If religions are inherently peaceful, shouldn't religious extremists be extremely peaceful?
goodlil666 · 51-55, MVIP
@jehova Yes but none state as part of their manifest to " do not stop until the last man praises Allah" Do not stop until we rule the world.

Also none of them condone and excuse the use deception and violence as long as it's in the name of Allah to further their cause . Allah ahkbar.
