If we love the God for he will give us heaven, Aren't we selfish?

Maybe it is selfish, or maybe it’s self-preservation and ignorance; but He knew and that didn’t change His mind. 😊
I got saved in my teen years, and only recently started learning who He is. Now, I love Him too. But it didn’t start that way. I didn’t understand back then and all those years that God actually loved me and wanted anything to do with me. I just didn’t want to go to hell. Now I couldn’t bear not having the Lord in my life.

Most people if not all are not able to just love God… just because. The core or the root of our being is selfishness ( the kind of pride) so we usually love BECAUSE we get something in return….

I would respect God more if He endured life with every generation. Not just one generation 200 lifetimes ago.
