Do you believe this scripture is true?

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:8–9)

Of course not. You have to wonder how many times those tales were told, retold, edited, censored and approved by the powerful who had interests to protect/promote/profit from.

Good God no...
@RenFur "wonder"? You sound awfully decisive to me

You have to "wonder" if, as scientists and mathematicians postulate, there may be intelligent life much like humans on other planets (do you believe this?) then chances are they must have "misbehaved" and went through the Jesus Christ dying for our sins bit, too? Did He make an appearance or did this God conjure up another Holy Son? Or maybe even a Holy Daughter?

Also, would The Bible be a universally recognized sacred book?
@RenFur completely unfalsifiable (but way decisive)

Not directed at you but many religious people are offended by verbal misgivings about their beliefs. Here's a shocker - many unbelievers are put off by any attempts to pass laws that enshrine fairy tale thinking in everyone's everyday lives starting with In God We Trust.

Oh? That sounds like a guarantee when nothing at all in this world is.

Malevolent forces? From where? Underground where "the devil" resides? LOL
