@Iwillwait This is not an argument worth having. It's simple upon this, she did not listen to you and instead of, projected her thoughts of your meanings. She's so taken with her anger she didn't even see it's not your post.

I have never had an atheist stop me in the street or come to my home and attempt to convert me to atheism.. Never!
Strongtea · 22-25, M
Really? I think we are very nice!
ArishMell · 70-79, M
You weaken your own argument by the blanket accusation.
Arrogance is no more necessary for Christianity than it is for any other strand of religious thought, including agnosticism and atheism.
Rather there are arrogant people in that faith and all others and none; and those who are so weak find their beliefs a convenient support and weapon against others.
Anyway didn't Jesus teach humility, kindness and respect for others? If so then those use and abuse the faith against others are not quite as "Christian" as they like to think.

My friend Kelly became a Christian by choice, and she's about the least arrogant person I've ever met.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@MaryDreamilton Two of my friends are even ordained priests, but they most certainly are not arrogant!
It's when they say stuff like "You will stand before God on that Day of Judgment and your actions on Earth will see you suffer the flames of eternal damnation" and keep on repeating it even though you tell them you don't believe that would happen.
Whatever happened to "do not judge, because you will be judged"? Quite a few of the bible chewers will end up in a very warm place, then (including those on this site), according to your "faith"

They have this Militia to conduct Guerrilla attacks on the innocent non-Christian civilians.
Militia: a military force that is raised from the civil population to supplement a regular army in an emergency.
Guerrilla warfare is a military tactic that involves small, independent forces carrying out irregular actions. The goal of guerrilla warfare is to disrupt the enemy's military operations and inflict damage and casualties. Guerrilla fighters are lightly armed and use deception, surprise, and the ability to blend into the local population and terrain.

It's a trait of all the Abrahamic religions. That includes more than just Christianity.

It's not specific to Christians. There are lots of people who belong to "good" groups or communities as a way to "balance out" the negative things they do, and as a shield when people call them out for doing negative things. "I can't do anything wrong because I go to church" is a thought that often runs through their heads. Oxfam actually has a huge problem where several of the members on mission trips hire local prostitutes and engage in other illicit activities while they are supposed to be serving.

Ignorance often leads to arrogance.
Any form of faith sounds cocky, the aim of faith is to keep fear at bay. Now religion will develop differently depending on the culture where it was implanted.
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
There's arrogant people everywhere but definitely not all Christans are arrogant. Don't generalize!
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@rosyhills
Well, you are going to continue to have "problems" because as I previously mentioned, Christians are instructed to spread the gospel
Exactly as I said - christian believe they are under orders to harass non-christians. They'll find they have problems when they persist in that behaviour.

Most people are arrogant.
Shadyglow · F
I dont know them all nor do you
Why do people write such ignorant things here, to stop communication or to ask 4 help communicating?????

@Sharon actually I think I agree but to stir up this stuff here creates bad feelings in the "targeted" ones and they will fight u back
Its a hopeless thing to try to discuss this stuff here, its not an "academic" and "objective" and "detached" crowd. People live and die based on their beliefs except in the Ivory Tower, and even that Tower is crumbling, its not ok to think some peoples are inferior to yours so even many academics are joining the Walmart crowd now, ditto for people in politics

Who is arrogant here:
1) The one who accept the Truth?
2) The one who reject the Truth?
Then you ask yourself: Am I a Christian?

In my experience, some of them are very humble. Others very arrogant, most are somewhere in between.
You have arrogant people everywhere you go.
