Lent is a religious thing right ? So if you're not religious it's meaningless right ?

Many ppl are lapsed Catholics, etc., but there is a noticeable presence at the two big church high holy days:

Christmas
&
Easter

Hence, "C & E people".

I observe Pancake Day and make a Simnel Cake. I ignore Mothering Sunday - just another excuse for florists to make money.
