I have forgiven my parents but I never had even basic freedom when I lived with them, they’re extremely religious and used it as the go to excuse for any irrational rules; this is why I can’t stand organized religion and will never raise my child the way my parents raised me

@G0ddess I had to forgive my mother as she had a mental break down when i was 14 and went into a hospital. They gave her EST and when she came out she was a different woman loving kind and a fantastic mother

In my experience, yes. Religious people are more likely to fall back on arbitrary, archaic rules for the same of tradition. Many of which aren’t even needed in todays culture.

I know some religious families that are pretty laid back.
