More religious crap

So when my mother passed away, my siblings wanted to do good in her name. It is a religious thing, meaning that you do something good and the deceased gets the credit 🤷‍♀️ Of course i don’t believe in any of that crap, but if my money is going to help the poor, then i am okay with it.

My brother started doing silly things too like payments to religious entities for someone to do religious activities on her behalf (like hajj), now that I call complete crap and I would never pay to have it done. I only contributed to REAL CHARITY. Helping poor areas is something that people will benefit from, but paying for someone to do hajj, i call that complete fraud and business!!!

My sister now messages me that a well that we were building has been completed.. of course she expected a religious answer from me as in; may allah accept or whatever crap people say in these situation… Me; not much of a response. All i could think of is that I only hope this well is not used to convert people to Islam, because I’ve seen YouTube videos whereby they do a charity in poor villages and then get the entire village to say the “shahadah” and then they be like; oh look at that!😮 This must be a great religion for an entire village to suddenly believe in it!!!😲

Messed up.. I want to get away from this demeaning way of doing good… If there really is a god, me, the agnostic one, must be the purest to him, because i really didn’t expect anything in return.. But the whole religious system is built on the carrot and stick approach anyway !

No, that part of that system is carrot and stick.

People here in America will say, wear and tattoo any company logo or slogan on earth for the right price. Let others spend their money and pay their tributes as they see fit. Seems like judgment on everyone's part is what's eroded religion to begin with.
