Is it?
You tell us.
Connor24 · 51-55, M
@SW-User Don't really know. People do say.
SW-User
@Connor24 what people? What basis?
Connor24 · 51-55, M
@SW-User people around me
Connor24 · 51-55, M
@SW-User They worship the blood drenched idols.
SW-User
@Connor24 why don't you pick up literature on Hinduism and it's philosophies and make your own mind up?
Connor24 · 51-55, M
@SW-User Are you a Hindu? Sorry if I hurt your feelings. Didn't mean it that way. Just wanted to know how can someone worship those blood drenched idols? Lots of Dark magic and their book on it.
SW-User
@Connor24 blood drenched? Really?

Their idols are archetypes. They call them gods and goddesses but they are representative of archetypes. Something to strive towards. Each god and goddess has a different strength.
The idol becomes like a totem.
How is it different from totems of other religions? Say like the cross.
SW-User
@Connor24 I don't identify with any religion. But I educate myself on them.
You don't offend anyone. At least you shouldn't.
All you do is show ignorance.
Connor24 · 51-55, M
@SW-User You don't know that. My friend went there and they tried to convert him. He said they actually transmigrated soul inside the idol before worship. Maybe you don't kjow certain facts. After this incident, he has gone in depression and don't want to visit Asia ever again.
SW-User
@Connor24 there are fake gurus everywhere. And scammers. So what you say may be possible. But it is not what the religion is about.
Theology is a good subject to pick up if you are interested in religions.
Connor24 · 51-55, M
@Connor24 And whosoever talks about transmigration of soul from one place to other is a Satan worshipper. Only Satan has the power to do that.
SW-User
@Connor24 like I said...your friend got duped.
Connor24 · 51-55, M
@SW-User I may try, thanks for the insight. Maybe if I have more time.
Connor24 · 51-55, M
@SW-User My friend had to be there on some big festival around November there but he got so nervous that he came back. He said he went to an inauguration and there, the preachers were calling out souls to migrate inside the idols
SW-User
@Connor24 yeah no. If this is a true story, your friend got duped or hallucinated on something he was on.

These kind of statements get people riled up. It would be better to do your research and express some level of compassion. Whatever religion you are, can you guarantee that nothing bad was done in the name of it?
Religion is not the problem. People are. And there are rotten people in all religions.

Anyway take care. Pick up a book.
Only Satan has the power to do that.
What, your god can't?

Connor24 · 51-55, M
@SW-User I did some research. You may Google it. The link is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prana_Pratishtha
Connor24 · 51-55, M
@Belladonna He is not in the fake business of idolatry.
Belladonna · 41-45, F
@Connor24 So he can't then. Pathetic.
SW-User
@Connor24 pratishtha according to wiki is a ritual consecration of religious images.

Meaning of consecration
[noun
the action of making or declaring something, typically a church, sacred.
"the consecration of this cathedral was a magical event"
(in Christian belief) the action of declaring bread and wine to be or represent the body and blood of Christ.
"the consecration of bread and wine in the Eucharist"
the action of ordaining someone to a sacred office, typically that of bishop.
"he received consecration as bishop at Notre Dame"]

As I said .. Like A Totem.

Every other detail you seem to bring on this sounds like something someone hallucinated or made up or a conscious choice to remain ignorant.
Connor24 · 51-55, M
@SW-User Hands down to How easily you suppress the basic fact that they, by dark magic put souls into the body of idols before anyone else could pray them. Yours is an advocacy and rhetoric for a culture which even did not put its name by itself.

How about their Gods being very similar to all the Greek gods? Do you believe It wasn't the Heracles or Alexander's invasion on them? These Greeks named these people Indoos and the Arabs, as they could not pronounce Indoos, they gave them this name Hindoos or Hindus..
SW-User
@Connor24 No, they don't put souls into idols by dark magic. Or bring me text that says they do. Your friends story does not suffice. You really want to believe this and it seems like you're not open to other perspectives.

I did say the gods and goddesses of Hindus are more like archetypes. As are Greek gods and goddesses. So of course there will be similarities. But there is no connection between Hindu mythology and Greek mythology.

This is how the term Hinduism originated:
The term Hindu is derived from the name of River Indus, which flows through northern India. In ancient times the river was called the Sindhu, but the pre-Islamic Persians who migrated to India called the river Hindu knew the land as Hindustan and called its inhabitants Hindus. The first known use of the term Hindu is from the 6th century BCE, used by the Persians. Originally, then, Hinduism was mostly a cultural and geographic label, and only later was it applied to describe the religious practices of the Hindus. Hinduism as a term to define a set of religious beliefs first appeared in a 7th century CE Chinese text.
This is an interesting article on the history of Hinduism. You might want to read it.
