Is Induism a religion of worshipping Satan?

Chachi · 51-55, F Best Comment
All the carvings in the temple is still unknown to us. The technology used, time travel and even you can find an European man statue with Morden outfit sitting on the temple entrance.

@Chachi @SW-User wow. Great

I don't think Satan is a thing in that religion.

Also why do you ask a question that would offend people ?

What's the pleasure in it ? Don't say that you you're curious or something, you could just Google instead of posting.

Actually I'm just curious and trying to understand the thought process that happens before posting offensive stuff intentionally.
Connor24 · 51-55, M
@SW-User haven't declared, just asked for opinion.
Chachi · 51-55, F
Nope dear, it's purely science. And the temples are actual library where the ancient engraved for the future generations to know how advance our ancestors were. Some temples have carving of fetus and the ovulation process, until know we can't figure out. Even computers are engraved in the walls. High level of civilization yet to be discovered by us.

@Connor24 pratishtha according to wiki is a ritual consecration of religious images.

Meaning of consecration
[noun
the action of making or declaring something, typically a church, sacred.
"the consecration of this cathedral was a magical event"
(in Christian belief) the action of declaring bread and wine to be or represent the body and blood of Christ.
"the consecration of bread and wine in the Eucharist"
the action of ordaining someone to a sacred office, typically that of bishop.
"he received consecration as bishop at Notre Dame"]

As I said .. Like A Totem.

Every other detail you seem to bring on this sounds like something someone hallucinated or made up or a conscious choice to remain ignorant.

@SW-User Hands down to How easily you suppress the basic fact that they, by dark magic put souls into the body of idols before anyone else could pray them. Yours is an advocacy and rhetoric for a culture which even did not put its name by itself.

How about their Gods being very similar to all the Greek gods? Do you believe It wasn't the Heracles or Alexander's invasion on them? These Greeks named these people Indoos and the Arabs, as they could not pronounce Indoos, they gave them this name Hindoos or Hindus..
SW-User
@Connor24 No, they don't put souls into idols by dark magic. Or bring me text that says they do. Your friends story does not suffice. You really want to believe this and it seems like you're not open to other perspectives.

I did say the gods and goddesses of Hindus are more like archetypes. As are Greek gods and goddesses. So of course there will be similarities. But there is no connection between Hindu mythology and Greek mythology.

This is how the term Hinduism originated:
The term Hindu is derived from the name of River Indus, which flows through northern India. In ancient times the river was called the Sindhu, but the pre-Islamic Persians who migrated to India called the river Hindu knew the land as Hindustan and called its inhabitants Hindus. The first known use of the term Hindu is from the 6th century BCE, used by the Persians. Originally, then, Hinduism was mostly a cultural and geographic label, and only later was it applied to describe the religious practices of the Hindus. Hinduism as a term to define a set of religious beliefs first appeared in a 7th century CE Chinese text.

This is an interesting article on the history of Hinduism. You might want to read it.

@jshm2 Correct to some extent.
Tracos · 51-55, M
I think the only religions that recognize Satan are judeo christianity based
Connor24 · 51-55, M
@Tracos As per the religious scriptures, you should not worship idols. The minute you worship idol, you are on the path to Satanism.
Penny · 46-50, F
@Connor24 if you knew anything baout hinduism you would know that they dont worship idols. th eonly idiol worship ive been seeing lately is people worshipping the bible
Tracos · 51-55, M
@Connor24 which scripture is that exactly? a judeo christian one?
alan20 · M
I think every ideology is capable of being perverted. I'm not too clear on the difference between an ideal and an ideology; the former would seem to be more admirable but to be honest my path these days has moved away from such interests. God is supposed to have created us in his own image but then condemns us for developing our own thinking which has always struck me as contradictory. Now someone will quote the bible.
MasterofNone · 26-30, M
If by worshipping Satan you mean following something similar to hedonism, then a few branches of Hinduism called Tantra may be mistaken for hedonism, that is the reason why many Hindus stay away Tantra themselves.

Hinduism is a collection of many different belief systems.
Connor24 · 51-55, M
@MasterofNone You are somewhat right. But still can not get to the detailed of how they start worshiping idols? They transmigrated soukd into those idols which again is Tantra and they do it to all the idols. Hence, no part escapes that system you are talking about.
MasterofNone · 26-30, M
@Connor24 @Connor24 idols are not worshipped in Hinduism. Idols are more of a reminder so that attention is focused on an object as God is too huge.

I have no idea what putting souls into idol is so I'd rather not talk about that. Tantra is considered to have some black magic stuff but what is black magic anyway?
Whodunnit · M
Given that Hinduism is twice as old as Christianity or the invention of the 'modern' concept of Satan I'm going to hazard a guess that, no, it's not a religion of worshipping Satan.
Connor24 · 51-55, M
@Whodunnit You are misinformed sir. The religion came to existence because of the Indus River which means Religion even got its name from Greek people. It is not even a religion. You are confused about the culture and religion. Originally, it was a culture and then a few people gave it the shape of religion. All the Gods are copied from original Greek lit.

Have a look between similarity of Indian and Greek Gods. Greece invaded India and gave them their Gods. Nothing to boast about that.

@Ferise1 oh Thank you
No. Theistic Satanism is the religion that worships Satan.
Adstar · 56-60, M
If they are worshiping anything they are worshiping fallen angels from the times before Noah.. But the ones they are worshiping are locked up in the bottomless pit..
Penny · 46-50, F
hinduism was around long before the notion of satan even existed.
Connor24 · 51-55, M
@Connor24 The culture that didn't have a name of its own and you call that world's oldest religion is some lack of knowledge on your side.
