Quran , chapter 41

Fussilat - Verse 34-35
{
And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] by that [deed] which is better; and thereupon the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend.
But none is granted it except those who are patient, and none is granted it except one having a great portion [of good].

There’s never any humour in holy texts is there?
@WintaTheAngle there is so much humor in Hadith (the biography , acts , sayings events in the life of prophet Mohammed and his companions )
I could share a few
^
As for the Quran there is little funny sarcasm but little portion
But mostly it’s spiritual and a book of guidance as it’s the word of God to us

@WintaTheAngle There is some good humour in several apocryphal Jewish Scriptures. But generally I think you are right. Maybe humour is considered to be blasphemy?

@helenS A God who could make people forget their suffering with laughter and good humour would be a powerful one in these times to my mind.

There are many loving verses to ease suffering in the Quran

And in the life of prophet Mohammed there were many funny incidentes and quotes he said

It’s not a grumpy religion

One of his friends was actually a prankster
