The story of Abel and Cain, The Bible ✝️ Vs The Quran ☪️ Which version ?🧐😯

The Biblical version ;

The Quranic version :

❗️Conclusion❗️
1/ the Biblical version is longer , the Quran version on the other hand is shorter and sounds more like a reference.
2/ the Bible mentions them by their name , the Quran doesn’t
3/ the Quran states that Cain buried his brother after being inspired to do so after seeing a crow digging in the ground. The Bible however doesn’t mention anything about Abels body.

What I “personally” found interesting🥰 :

1/ I was shocked by Cains attitude towards God in the Bible “am I my brothers keeper “
^
That was an amusing bit

2/ The verses “before” the story of Abel and Cain in the Quran were actually about the children of Israel and prophet moses etc
And then Allah/God suddenly mentioned the story of Abel and Cain as a moral reference / lesson
Then he returned to the topic of talking about the children of Israel Once again
As if trying to make a connection.
And I honestly loved how he connected the two different things to be honest
{whoever kills a soul it is as if he had slain mankind entirely }
Because if you really think about it , by Cain killing Abel He also killed a whole possible entire bloodline with decedents and decedents that could have remained till this day if only Abel hadn’t been killed. So God in the Quran is not talking about the “weigh “ of the sin that if you kill someone you will be punished as if you have killed all of human race as in literal meaning but rather talking about the “importance “ of the one human soul. to not be taken lightly.
in Islam the concept of doubling the sin and sin inheritance etc dont exist :
{Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgement] with a good deed will have ten times the like thereof [to his credit], and whoever comes with an evil deed will not be recompensed except the like thereof; and they will not be wronged} Quran 6:160

Both versions are two be respected !
this is my humble comparison 💕

The quran version reads like an interpretation of the Bibles Genius version..

The conclusion in the quran is that Abel's sacrifice was accepted because Able was righteous and Canes was rejected because cane was not righteous.. But this is not what the message of the Bible..

Abel's sacrifice was a blood sacrifice of an animal a first born of his flock. While Cains sacrifice was vegetables.. Abel's sacrifice was accepted by God because it was pointing symbolically to the later lamb sacrifice of the Jews instituted by God in the times of Moses, which itself was a symbolic representation of the future sacrifice of Jesus who is called the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world..

In the Bible version God spoke to Cain before he killed his brother trying to reassure him that he was not being rejected by God personally.

(Genesis 4:6-7) "And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? {7} If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him."

It's just that God was giving a lesson and establishing a precedence of blood sacrifice being the way pointing to the way humanities sin would be atoned for..

Cain made the mistake of thinking he was being rejected by God and being jealous of Able which lead to him murdering his brother..

@Adstar as a Muslim, I don’t mind agreeing with what you said actually. because I grew up being taught that Abel had flocks and Cain worked with soil
And Abel offered blood sacrifice and Cain offered fruit and so on etc basically same narrative as the Bible.
However the Quran makes it kinda clear that it revolves around good intention and righteousness , what was sacrificed is not focused on.

but even in the Islamic version this being “righteous “
Could be interpreted as giving a blood sacrifice or simply good intention.

And actually I looked up many “Christian “ sources and they themselves differ
Some say it’s the impure intention / heart of Cain
Some say it’s because it’s not a blood sacrifice etc different possible opinions

My “own” opinion though aside from both Islam and Christianity, “if” Cain didn’t have any flock
And “thought” he was doing something good and Godly by presenting his own fruits which he grew himself after hard work and time
Would God not have accepted his offering still ? if he was sincere chose the best of his fruit and worked hard ?
That’s the idea I’m left with.

Who knows ? “maybe” God didn’t accept Cains offering as a test to see how he’d react .
God tests us in different ways in life
These are the thoughts Im left with
Aside from what belief tbh.

But again I don’t know, who knows.
in the end , Only God knows.

If the biblical version is longer, then it goes without saying that the Quran version is shorter, yet you said it anyway. And the stories in these books are apocryphal, which means they didn't literally happen. I wouldn't give it too much thought.

The problem is that the atheist is just a self-fulfilling prophecy of someone who’s never examined all the facts which your post tells me you haven’t@RedBaron

@1354swrdt It's a problem for you, not for me. The Bible is not factual and proves nothing. I'm done here. Later.

Sorry mate. You have proved nothing. Just made unfounded statements @RedBaron

The Biblical version predates the Quaranic version by many hundreds of years

@1354swrdt technically Judaism predates Christianity with the story
So same thing ?😅
Judaism Christianity and Islam are all abrahamic religions.
+
Islam confirms the Torah and gospel to be the word of God but with the belief that they were not saved thus a bit changed and fabricated over time
and Quran to be the “last” holy book from God.
So of course the similarities.
Again that doesn’t have to be your beliefs Im just saying

Thanks for your comment 💕
