Spicing up my resources a little more
These were nagging me, nag ... see what i did there??
What a nice 6 hour time period, made fish and chips and watched some hockey, heard from mom, all is ok, she'll have a comfortable mattress to sleep on tonight, and me i'm exhausted i was gonna sleep 6 hours ago, at that time i was awake for a long time.
The above resources, i had to get the nag and the gnostic bible because there's things each has that the other doesn't i think, the gnostic one has some Cathar stuff, i recall reading in my Cioran a passing reference to that sect, and here i can get a wider sense of that time period, not just the stuff that passed the grade in 300 something CE or AD. Council of Nicea if i'm not mistaken.
I'm not gonna share these new acquisitions with my folks right away, both because it would cause doctrinal concern and that i'm spending too much, the ole phrase "when does it end?" in a lamenting tone of voice with censure woven into it, yeah i don't need that.
I watch a lot of videos of pastors talking about their favorite theology books and it's fun to see them nerd out, but when they get all "don't bother if you're not an upstanding member of a church and searching the scriptures" i go to them tauntingly la la la nahh nahh nibby noob noober ... iow's their words don't apply to me, i know myself that i'm having a wonderful time collecting and familiarizing myself with the engrossing world of theology. It's fun and no one can tell me differently.
So before i sleep, a little heresy might be in order 😈
