Unfortunately when someone well liked doesn't like you there's a price to pay.

There's no point in defending yourself, you don't have the privilege of your own truth. You just pay for the hurt they caused (again) if you dare speak.

If nothing else, I'm not locked into social dynamics that haven't evolved since I was 9. And I'm only losing people who don't really know me or care about me.

Peace 🖤

Yeah... been there. Turns out I didn't miss them.
The hardest part is realizing you're defending yourself to people who already picked a side.

@mindstruggle I'm to the point I'm not defending myself because it shouldn't be about sides. There can always be multiple perspectives and people can live and speak their own truth. Sometimes people need to understand what their behavior creates though. I am applying this to myself too.
@EldritchFox
I wasn't thinking in terms of right side/wrong side. More that once people settle on a narrative, it can feel impossible to have an honest conversation.
All that matters is your intention.
It can be good, but others can still choose to see you how they want. You can’t control that. That’s on them.

You’d rather be liked for who you are.
Than be liked for who you’re not.

Be you. 🩵
