That sounds very similar to me. Except my mom would have me take a bath early in the evening and come back downstairs in my pajamas. I would watch TV and then right when I was getting into the show my mom would tell me it's my bedtime. I actually think she had me come downstairs in the first place just so she could order me to go to bed later.
