If meditation is practiced by keeping mind in the present..what is the purpose of a dedicated meditation session?

We keep doing it all the day when we focus on our tasks like talking to someone, reading, watching a movie, cooking and so on, we bring our minds to the present moment so we can do the task

So why do we need a dedicated session of meditation having a comfortable posture and focus on our breath ?

Well that's only half of it .
Yes, it's about being present .
....but being present in the stillness.

Being present to the impacts of the outside world is Often reactionary .

The point of mediation is to help one let go ones damage or blocks and become clear enough to become actionary instead .

Or so I understand .馃し
