Tantric Meditation (Just Chakras) 002

So, I tried a basic breath meditation. I laid down for this one and breathed diaphragmatically for 10 minutes. I felt the energy moving down the two side channels on either side of the central channel. It felt like tubes of tingles and warmth. That's just how it feels for me. In classical Tantra, somewhere around the root chakra, there is a kind of energy coil or spring. Some sources call it, "The coiled serpent," or something like that. So, when you breathe in, the coil pushes the energy up, but you kind of have to direct it to go up the central channel and not the side channels. I cannot tell you how I do this any easier than I could explain how I move my arm. It's just something you do.

So, I did that. I felt the energy go up the channel and fill it. My main goal though was to see if I could feel, "The Profound Silence," at the end of each in-breath and out-breath. I was able to do it, but the fidelity was poor. I wasn't really in the zone. I had thoughts interrupting regularly. I hope to try it a few more times until I can get it solid. Then, I can move on to the next meditation where I focus on experiencing the 5 senses in a kind of Open Monitoring Meditation, but one at a time. In the end, you are supposed to focus on the "profound silence underlying all 5 senses."

When I felt the silence, it felt like a deep peace, calmness, and mild happy feeling all throughout my body. To me, it didn't feel like emptiness. It felt like when you go to the gym and do a full body workout, and you come home and flop onto the couch or bed and your whole body feels that sense of relief at not having to move. It felt very similar to that feeling throughout my body.
