Cold and distant

Sometimes you can ask too much. They confide in you and they regret it. You got too close to the fire and you deservedly got burnt. So stupid and preventable. Why keep going with something you know is flawed? Time to revert to being cold and distant. Bury it deep so you can move away and gain clarity. Time to set sail for new shores.
