Losing my Dad left a yearning of a good man. [I Want to Be Loved]
Yes, I can tell you about the psychology of the whole thing but in truth the loss of my Dad when I was nine was the cause of my worst behaviour, but it can also be said the loss of my Dad has been the cause of my best behaviour. How can this be? Time and thought, two important factors in both!
My Dad was tall dark and handsome! He was the son of a Catalan Legionnaire (Legion Etrangére) stationed in Lebanon, and an Arab Christian whose family once lived in the north of the Bekaa valley in Lebanon. His parents moved to Marseille from Beirut, and my Dad grew up on the streets of the city. He was looking at the Legion himself as the last option of he failed his technical apprenticeship, but meeting my Mum made the difference for him.
His death whilst very much premature was a catalyst to my return to France from Germany, to first live with my paternal grandparents before my Mum got the insurance payout which got us the house we live in, and paid my way in university for my first year. I took a year off, to earn some money to get me to where I am now, just a few months from graduation.
