Hang in there, @danix. Somebody will come along for you - whether romantic or just somebody you really click with platonically. Keep your eyes and mind open, because it may not be the person you expect to find.
In the meantime, be sure to keep taking care of yourself first and foremost. Try to get enough sleep, eat generally healthy, get some exercise, try to learn at least a little something every day, and so on.

Yeesh, these trust only yourself people are so jaded. One does have to be careful, but giving up on trust altogether seems far too sad.
