Is Polygamy a big thing where you live?

I have been watching the fictional show - Big Love - set in the US.
There is a lot of deception required to hide from society and the law.
Polygamy is illegal in most countries?

Is it big? No, but it exists in secluded areas. I knew someone who taught in a Mormon compound in southern Idaho. She had 30 Something students which shared just a handful of fathers and 14 mothers.

nah, I think in general polygamy isn't cool with most people. It's just something that happens as people sleep around and cheat, jumping from relationship to relationship

The problem with the particular brand of polygamy portrayed in big love is complex. Child brides and teenage boys being run off so the older men could have more wives. The FLDS is so exploitive
