Locked out naked

So by this time I'm married have a child, responsible. My wife at the time and I were renting a small house from a older man house was built in the 50's, a time they didn't think that people might need to go the the basement so stairs were not built inside. So as you could imagine our washer dryer were in the basement. At the time I had a job that required me to be in at 5 am so naturally I would be up at 4 am or earlier depending on what I had to do before I got to work. She as well had to be in at 5 so we would take our son to the baby sitter that early thank God she would get up and take him. So this morning I shower brush my teeth dry my hair as normal, as I went to the closet I soon remembered we did laundry late yesterday and didn't bring them up, So I walk to the back door it's fourish in the morning and super dark out the door naked to the basement. Get my work clothes out the basement, and door locked. Damn it I knock on back door no response I couldn't knock to loud neighbors would hear so the only thing I could was go to the front door knock again nothing I was getting a little pissed by this time went to our bedroom window and knocked, scared here she is screaming for me and I'm like it's me open the damned door. She opens the door I'm naked she is like what the hell are you doing, I explained. She asked why didn't I put something, because everything was in the dryer. Women.
