If two legally aged women and a man wish to get married and there is no coercion or anything of the like

And they aren't hurting anyone else, then they should be allowed to do it. Does it stop you from marrying who you like, stop you from going to work etc?

Polygamy is generally associated with coercion and compromised rights for women. That is why it is illegal in most western countries.

Incidentally, if two legally aged men and a woman wishe to get married, would you feel the same?

@SunshineGirl Yes, because that would be consenting adults. How are 2+ consenting adults compromising women's rights?

@Therealsteve Exactly. An adult woman making a choice she later regrets .. gets blamed on the man or claims of abuse and rights violations. Not really a fan of polygamy .. but its kind of hypocritical what is/is not upheld by the liberals. A rather capricious lot.

@BrandNewMan It's because everything pushed by "as long as it's two consenting adults" goes against the construction of a large, strong biological family. They are no threat to the state. A resourceful man strong in mind and body with several women of whom he has many children with and can home school with ideas against the status quo is a threat however.

@Therealsteve Except it doesn't really threaten the status quo, does it? This scenario does little other than envisage a traditional hierarchical family unit in which the women have limited agency and the children limited life opportunities. So effectively confirming what has passed for "normal" for centuries.
@SunshineGirl They claim they want their marriages to be biblical. Solomon had what, 10 wives and numerous concubines?
Therealsteve · 31-35, M
@SunshineGirl Yes, it does. I recommend looking up the Mormon war or other religious identitarian collectivist programs throughout history. I did a bit of it myself, whilst in Malaysia.
