If you want kids, then work it backwards.
You want to be able to work until they turn 18, so say you retire at 60, then you would have your second child when you are 42, but that is pretty late in life and the child may have disabilities, so say you drop that 5 years. So max is 37, but that is the second kid, so say they are 2 years apart, you are down to 35, and add a year buffer.
Max age would be 34. Of course you could have kids without being married, but that is awkward and the man may run, best to lock it all down.
Now suppose your first marriage doesn't work out, then you would want to have at least 6 years between them, this gives you 4 years to figure out you hate the guy, and two to recover from the pain of separation, so now you are down to 28, but better add a couple more years to find your next true love, so lets say 26 and I will shutup now. ;)
