@Bumbles I was being raped by a neighbour in the months leading up to soon to be ex and I meeting.
Understandably, I was desperate to make it stop. My friends wouldn't help me, the police wouldn't help me...
And now that I had been home for two months, my rapist was getting confident again.
Soon to be ex stopped that.
Three months later, when his mother was dying from cancer, he decided that he wanted her to see at least one of her children married before she died (I felt that it was too soon, but I understood) - so we set the date since we couldn't marry at the hospital.
We were going to marry elsewhere and have a blessing at her bedside. She would die two weeks before we married.
Ultimately, the decision was made for me... I either married soon to be ex or I went back to getting raped by my neighbour - which would you choose???
