Very married with no ring

I saw this man I hadn’t seen before at work. I looked for a ring finger because he is good looking, about my age, and well that’s all I need for starters lol. He was not wearing a ring. However, it turns out he is married. Someone referred to him as so-and-so’s husband and all I could think was, damn it there wasn’t a ring!

The same thing happened at a research place I was working at years ago.

One of the young ladies that worked in admin was constantly hanging out in the prototyping area.

After a couple of months of her appearing to actively be trying to flirt with us, the word got back to us that she thought the whole shop was single because none of us wore rings. We were all machinists by trade and no intelligent machinist would ever be caught wearing jewelry .....

(=not wanting to lose fingers/skin around all the revolving machinery)
