Not really true in my case. No cruelty , no insult no cheating. Don't have secrets that I would feel embarrassed or guilty about. She knows I am kinky, a pervy man. But she also knows about my kinky affairs - not the juicy details but in broad terms.I am grateful to my partner,keeping secret feels like betrayal.
Yes there are lots of absurd promises that are made during courtship which doesn't translate in real.
