Do you regret getting married? (If you did)

Fairydust · F
I should never have married, knowing what I know now, I guess things happen for a reason.
I’ve learnt a lot, which helps to grow as a person.
It’s put me off now, even just having a relationship 😒
I do see many successful marriages around me though.

Yes and no. I’m at a point in my life where I’m pretty sure being single forever wouldn’t scare me much.
No and yes. No, because I think there were some good times and the kids are great. Yes, because I still feel like I gave up a lot of myself over the years and as adults my kids are probably lacking in a lot of skills they need to survive on their own. My primary objective right now is to help the kids get more self reliant and right my own rocking ship.

I don't let myself hold regrets but I will acknowledge I've had more than my share of pain and hard learned lessons.

Also that it's been really hard to detangle our enmeshed lives after all these years and I think we've managed to fail worse at separating than we did at marriage.

No. It's been pretty tough at times, but I still rather prefer being married to not.

Never doing it again, though.

Hmmm, no, but I wish I hadn’t. We’re amicably divorced with a beautiful son so it’s all good, but I didn’t need the marriage.

No but we have been through a lot so far which has made us value what is really important.
