If it's really important to them to keep their name, (for example, there were only girls born in their family and it's a cool or famous name), then women can begin to use their maiden name as their middle name.
Hispanic women AND men do this already, hence all the hyphenated last names.
I work on family trees ALL the time, and I certainly do wish that in early American records women's maiden names had been considered important enough...BY ANYONE AT ALL...to include in their marriage records, on their gravestones, or by their own families.
