Because as far as I know, marriage means different things in different cultures.

So what is ok for some people, isnt for others.
Therefore, what you may deem is acceptable, may not be by another party.

@in10RjFox to be honest, (and honesty is one of my greatest failures/successes: i feel you are missing out on something wonderous and soul freeing .

A union of two people, (or more if its a polyamory), can be.....SO soul qhenching.
It becomes a union on another level : someone who knows your SOUL.
Your inner most weaknesses and desires . Someone who knows you fully and deeply , and loves you not only for, but in spite of all you are.

Imagine ....someone so special who knows everything there is about you. To be so fullfilled by that persons presence , you dont need, not want , to look any further for fulfillmemt.
To be so satisfied in a person's presence that its a tangible feeling like a sedative or a stimulant drug.

Marriage has grown from a social necessity ....to become a personal desire of emotional and/or spiritual fullfilmment of connection far beyond the base social needs of family and economic viability .

I wonder if the need to look outside a partnership for satisfaction isnt so much a freedom, as it is a lack of connection in the first place .🤔
