Always Wanted To

I think, that comes down to mum never being married. She was a kind of free spirit. Hedonistic and such.

I too am a bit like that but I also wanted that strong relationship that I thought that mum missed in her life. I married a lovely woman, much older in age than myself but young in mentality.

Added to that strong lesbian marital status I also wanted children, and with our little princess we have a very strong and secure family unit.

All, to me, started with the concept of marriage.

So much of what we learn from our parents is from what they did, or didn't, do rather than what they say. And whether we learn from it and apply it in positive ways in our lives, or use it as an excuse for our failings. Congratulations for taking the high road and using it positively in your life.
