My husband travels all of the time for work

And it just gets lonely at times. I know this is probably pretty common but it’s what led me here. Not being a whiner or anything, but I’m sure there are people who can relate
RavenScape · 51-55, F
Yes. My partner travels for work also. Then when he’s home on weekends, he’s either sleeping or catching up on various chores and errands. Feels alone 90% of the time.
brian29715 · 46-50, M
@minnygirl I thought I was providing for my family. In reality I was just working on the wall between everyone. 😥
minnygirl · 31-35, F
@brian29715 I’m sorry, that is heartbreaking
RavenScape · 51-55, F
@justanothername truck driver
JustDJ76 · 46-50, M
Its bad too when you’re lonely but live in the same house.
Coldplay · 61-69, M
@JustDJ76 THIS!!
hub is married to his profession and took me a while to accept playing second fiddle
@in10RjFox get examined everyday, not allowed to treat family here
in10RjFox · M
@saragoodtimes then you should look for another doctor.. 😀
@in10RjFox have good doctors who treat my medical needs
Rambler · M
For many years I traveled all the time for work. There's a reward in making a living and supporting for family but there is also a price. Yep.
minnygirl · 31-35, F
@Rambler absolutely and I love and appreciate what he does and how he provides for us
Yes it does. Do you have friends or maybe hobbies to help with the absence?

I notice your profile said bi-curious. Be careful of the absences tempting you into something you haven't discussed first with hubby.
minnygirl · 31-35, F
@VeronicaJane great point. I’ve mentioned it to him but have not had a serious conversation yet. I do have a small group of other moms in my neighborhood with kids close in age
@minnygirl glad to hear you've mentioned it to him. If your tempted to find some intimate companionship in his absence, I would strongly recommend discussing it with him. Who knows, the absences may be causing him to consider things also.
braveheart21 · 61-69, M
My fiancé is 3000 miles away... Hopefully she will be with me permanently by Christmas
Kstrong · 56-60, F
@braveheart21 i hope so
Midlifemale · 61-69, M
I understand that. When my wife was working, she was more married to her job that to me....it was rough on our marriage and all she wanted to talk about was work
carpediem · 61-69, M
It gets lonely for him too. Spending night after night alone in hotels doesn’t help. Been there
Coldplay · 61-69, M
I can definitely relate. Be sure to protect your heart. You will have temptations when you are lonely.
Lackwittyname · 51-55, M
Yes, always can be tough, but finding a distraction helps a bit, though not the same.
Lostlostlost · 51-55, M
Definitely, I spent the best part of 20 years working away
Fa8393 · 41-45, M
I don't blame you feeling this way
Sam17 · 18-21, M
Hope you make some friends here
Kae20 · 56-60, FVIP
My total sympathies, i cant imagine what it would be like to go even a day without the man i loved by my side , it would be extremely difficult.

Let alone it being a way of life.

Just wondering if he had this job when you met and married?
minnygirl · 31-35, F
@Kae20 no, this is a new job that he took a couple of years ago
NickyLee · 41-45
Im one of those husbands who travel for work. I feel for ya, I know its not easy.
minnygirl · 31-35, F
@NickyLee nope
NickyLee · 41-45
@minnygirl well, damn. Now I'm just embarrassed lol
A lot of washing machines, maybe only the older ones, im not sure, would shake like crazy during the spin cycle. That of course could make for some added excitement with a partner or of course, during your "alone time."
minnygirl · 31-35, F
@NickyLee ah! I see where you’re going. Still a big nope from me and call me naive for never knowing that is really a thing
Ontheroad · M
There are lots of fun people here to "talk" to, but just as a heads up, stick with open forum posts and comments until you get to know who you are talking with.

Welcome aboard!
Social contact is very important. You can get some satisfaction here but there should be many opportunities in your daily life if you look around.
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
I used to travel for work and I hated it
Glad to meet you! Lonely is what led me here also.
Mtwa85 · 46-50, M
When he is gone how long is he out on the road for?
bigryand · 31-35, M
That has to be extremely difficult!
Aysel · F
Yep, my fiancé also travels for work.
Then you appreciate him even more. Can you do volunteer work? Pursue new hobbies? Zoom with him? Someday he will retire and you will be evolved and happy and enjoy together. Sounds good.
minnygirl · 31-35, F
@PoetryNEmotion I’ve gotten into some hobbies more but with a little one it can be challenging
@minnygirl There are support groups. Join other moms even. A whole world to explore. Little ones tag along and learn too. You are good. Have fun.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
Hobbies? Job? Pets?
minnygirl · 31-35, F
@Jenny1234 I do not work, I am a SAHM but hopefully will get back to work at some point. Have a few hobbies and have just signed up for a walking club (I feel old lol), my first time will be tomorrow with that group
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@minnygirl I hope you love your walking group. That’s terrific that you signed up

I could never have been a sahm so I have to say I admire you for that! I worked full time raising my kids. For my sanity
IamBack · 31-35, M
As long as you stay loyal, you’re good 👍🏻
Gringo · 46-50, M
Your box will soon be full.
Alex51 · 61-69, M
I work so not lonely lol
brian29715 · 46-50, M
I can relate.
Fukfacewillie · 51-55, M
He should be careful and not take you for granted. You’ll be having an affair soon.
