I came across a video on YouTube with this topic.
A couple more came up after it.
I'm guessing this is more common than we think.

One reason was trauma.
The person didn't go into detail as to whether or not the spouse knew of the trauma before the marriage.

What would you do if you married a person that you loved, then never consummated the marriage?

We can always work on it with therapy.

But the issue should be known by both parties before the marriage.

A number of years ago my wife went on a trip somewhere with a group of women. There was a woman (who I think my wife must have known from high school) who was a bit of a germophobe and never used the same tooth brush twice, just tossed them and got a new one each time. So somehow the topic of sex came up and she claimed her and her husband did not have sex because obviously sex is gross. Supposedly her husband had agreed to this before they married. I remember thinking, gee, I wonder if he's sleeping with someone else and was this part of the agreement? She had grown kids from a previous marriage, so obviously she hadn't always seen sex as gross.

It would depend on the context. I am quite sexual and could not endure a marriage without sex. If it was not with my spouse, them there would need to be an arrangement.

Not diminish the trauma that one person might’ve suffered, but if you enter a lifeline agreement without knowing another person… that’s more than double that’s like triple or quadruple. Tragic.

I would assume that the topic would be discussed between the parties and a resolution would be found that's acceptable to both.

That would never happen because I would have sex before marriage.
