Do you sometimes regret getting married?

I don't let myself hold regrets, I try to look back at negative experiences and glean what I have learned from them.

That said, the first decade or so had some pretty dark times. There was emotional abuse, sexual coercion, financial abuse, and physical intimidation bordering contact abuse. I was too codependent to leave and he was too narcissistic to let me go.

A [u][b]LOT[/u][/b] of therapy, soul searching and hard conversations have occurred since and things are a bit better but there's still some brokenness.

No, Not even the first wife, who cheated on me and took illegal street drugs frequently. It's what I call attending the School of Hard Knocks. Certain lessons are best learned by experience alone.

I have never regretted marrying Lynn. (I'm not asking her if she feels the same about me.)

I regret getting engaged and planning a wedding more than once.😒
