Why is everyone here seemingly disappointed in marriage? I will not have it.

Glad you're happy. Before marrying someone you MUST know EVERYTHING about that person's culture and their family. When I say everything I mean everything.
Otherwise you will have left where your life was for a wife who is a pushover to her family and who has zero friends and who, despite being a fully grown woman still lets her family's perception make her decisions.
Don't rush marriage and end up in a miserable one.
