How should I show affection towards a lonely single woman wanting to get married

Without showing any kind of serious interest in marriage?
I knew her for a while but haven't seen her for about 10 years now. Several fellow women around her have turned down men as if they were poisonous, yet this one woman back then stated that she just hoped to get married some day - no pursuing, no being asked out.

I feel kinda sorry for her, but she lives in a subculture in which they expect you to get marry as if otherwise planet earth was doomed. How should I approach this?

Getting in any sort of relationship that's driven through sorrow is a failing proposition. You can attempt to boost her self image and self esteem though...and hope that she finds a better intrinsic emotional balance.

@Spoiledbrat Ask those in mormon churches who have met married couples like once or twice every year and thus feel obliged to bother them about how to raise their kids.
