Having an existential crisis really sucks

The past twenty years have flown by. It's all been just surviving and putting out fires. Going through the motions everyday. Now I realize that I'm old, and there are certain things that I will never experience. So many things that I wanted in life that I will never know. Because there just isn't time. All my time is committed to my obligations, to my children, my job, my broken marriage. I was hoping that by this age I wouldn't feel so lost.

There's plenty of ways to enjoy life and exploring the person you are, you just need to dedicate part of each day to yourself like this.

@MisterGrey I'll try. I just feel stuck

@Lilliesandlight What would you like to do?

@MisterGrey so many things, that are out of reach. Have real love, a tight circle of friends, road trip across country, play an instrument, travel to Europe, lose weight and have a good looking body, go skydiving, take up dancing, go to college and have a successful career. Have people in my life that I can be close too, that I can lean on.

@Lilliesandlight You're still in the prime of life and most of these things like playing an instrument or dancing can be done in a small way to start with at home. When the kids are able to be left home alone you will have more freedom to travel and as for looks, I don't think you need to worry about body image with a cute face like that. ;) Focus on how to make a start and spend time making plans for the bigger stuff too.
