People who say things like I should hold onto my wife, hold onto the memories, etc…

Do you understand she’s dead? She’s gone. She is no more. She matters no more. She can’t hear me. Maybe it’s from a good sentiment but still.

You can’t erase memories. Those memories are going to matter no matter what, because it sounds like that was someone you loved deeply and she made you happy and that’s just something you don’t forget. So yeah, maybe people say that because they just don’t have anything better to say but if they thought about it a little harder they would see they’re kind of irrelevant remarks. Don’t need to hold them, they’re always going to exist for you.

Eckhart Tolle once said "We are timeless, deathless creatures.." and he's a genius. He said our physical being is no longer but our consciousness shifts and is transformed into a different energy. We are energy essentially, and energy cannot be destroyed.
