What do you do when you’re jealous?

Many people think that envy and jealousy are one in the same, however, there are two important distinctions.

Jealousy is derived from the fear of having someone or something taken away from you, whereas envy is feeling upset about not having or being able to have what somebody else has.

Example of jealousy: "Jane sees John is going out with Jill and is afraid that she'll steal him away."

Example of envy: "John wants a new car and is mad that Joe got one and he didn't."

And in answer to the aforementioned query, yes, I've been known to become jealous... And envious.
