Why are most parents against interracial relationships?

Most parents only want their children to date their race. My late father says as long as they treat us right, faithful and trustworthy, he doesn’t care but he prefers us to stick with our own kind. I mean they’re allowed to have an opinion and have preferences.

My dads youngest brother and his wife disowned their own son because he is married to a wonderful woman who is black and they have four beautiful children. Most of my family refuse to speak to him but not everyone in my family is like that. My dad still talked to my cousin and loved his nieces and nephews. He and my uncle stopped speaking to each other because he didn’t like how racist and idiotic he and his sister in law were being. My aunt and uncle never met their grandchildren and they refused too. I overheard they don’t want half negro grandparents and his son was trying to darken up his family. Wow that was so brutally blunt. They refused to come to their weekend back then. I wasn’t even born (mom was pregnant with me) but that’s what I heard.

I wouldn't say "most" parents are against interracial relationships. I wouldn't care if my son was with a woman of a different race. But if someone is racist, they're not going to want someone of a different race in their family. This sentiment appears in all races, not just white people.
