PLS explain why people want to get married or not

We're not interested in marriage as to us it seems very shallow but some of our friends question our true commitment to each other because we both don't want to have a wedding or go down that pathway.

im 33 , i dont get it as of the very now, maybe thats gon change... to me its a very invasive concept, how can ppl see each other damn near 24/7 ? maybe with separate housing it could work
