Have you ever noticed that

When you leave your husband home alone, he just plays around?

Mine says he’s going to fix the drainage at the basement door today when I leave for the day but I know he’s just going to piddle around the garage and with his car and watch tv.

Yep , I come back and he’s welding on something or teaching my son how to fix something. If I need something fixed I start pounding around with a hammer and he comes running to keep me from “ destroying “ it. 😂😂😂 works every time 😉

@TexChik Yep, when the wives start pulling out tools it's time to intervene. 🤣

@WindTherapy I grew up on a farm . I can fix stuff , but he is a engineer and very protective of me so I let him do it

@WindTherapy it’s true!

It's never a good idea to leave a husband home alone without written instructions. We have "stuff" to do and it is often not the stuff that really needs doing. We have good intentions, but if you don't leave a list, you are setting us up for failure. Totally your fault 🤣

My husband has a pretty good memory. I usually do more chores on weekdays, On Saturday morning, we talk about what chores and errands we need done, set a timeline and we finish them all up and then head out to do something fun like take a walk, go to the beach, go out somewhere,.watch a movie, or whatever.

@Scribbles Wow...very disciplined!
Men like to disassemble things then ruin them and attempt to fix them. And in most cases those things were working before all this unnecessary drama 😅

Ugh, tell me about it.
Mine never does anything arounnd the house. His excuse? "I'm not even a real person! How can I do the dishes or wash the floors?"

So sick of his excuses.

Lists are always a good idea, along with clear deadlines and expectations of accountability.

Last year I hired a male person to fix my front door. Because his labour is in such high demand, I drew up a list of other tasks for him to do so that he might find it worth his whi!e to stick around for a bit and do the one task that was really important and which I definitely couldn't do myself. But he used this relative freedom of choice to procrastinate and avoid fixing my door until one day I found I couldn't get back into my own bloody house 🤦‍♀️

If a man says he is going to do something then he's going to do it! There's no need to sit there and remind him about it every 6 months.

So I'm not the only one...... 🤣

My problem is I'm easily distracted. I'll see another project and decide to work on it instead. 🤦‍♂️

I hope he gets that fixed. Can`t be having floods in the basement. Me, I get my jobs done first then play.

I thought you were going in a different direction with playing around. Hanging out in the garage and watching tv ain’t bad.

You mean he doesn’t follow your list of things to do? Who put you in charge of another adult?

@swirlie Umm okay. I’m sure that’s funny in some circles

My husband is exactly like this. Even though she's technically a wife. 😅

The only time they have time to play is when the wife is away
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
No, but I have a wife who does that on her phone.
Mickwnes · 51-55, M
As a husband I can confirm, yes this is what we do.

Those are the best days....😊

Planning it is hard work
Ozuye502 · 36-40, M
Men do not piddle around with a car if it’s a project car or the daily driver there’s always work to be done!

@swirlie either way project car or daily driver it’s not dicking around or playing around it’s work..
yea Im guilty of project hopping for hours on end when I’m left to my own devices. Between the project car(s) the motorcycle(s) quad(s) or whatever the work bench has to offer yea no big deal! Because although I’m project hopping or hyper focused at the end of it I either way I made progress on something that I can maybe make $ on… laundry eh fuck it!

Well... it's a little of both. I really did scrub/mop the garage floor and paint the walls... the eyes 😜 have it!

@swirlie not yet. But at least I get to chat with all the husbands. One even bought me a coffee and a donut once because we were sitting there for so long
