Do I dare do another online relationship?

Many of you know me, and also knew the person from EP/SW that I had a relationship for well over 7 years or so. You know that we talked online 7 nights a week 5-6 hours straight unless he had a hospital app't, a horse show, or travel to Italy for a couple of days.

You also know he was "straight" but claimed he had a "bend" where I could fit nicely. It wasn't just a physical love ( Although we talked about how to work that out in a sensible way) Those who knew us both knew our love was on so many different planes not just the physical. A perfect Pisces/Virgo match. So completely able to "read" each other, make each other laugh, and rarely cry. It was as much "Spiritual" as physical. Unfortunately, months before our marriage, his genetic brain tumor got him and he died. He wrote me the day before and stressed, My happiness is the most important thing. Above all else he wants me happy.

I don't really believe in online relationships. I think we were the odd exception. Without prejudice of my sexual preference, What is your honest impression? The current one is cute, but we hardly know each other and to be honest. I'M AFRAID. TOTALLY AFRAID!

I would do real life
@abe182 The smartest, most practical answer, Ironically I live in the worlds largest gay resort towns Palm Springs Ca. only thing wrong. The guys and the bars all bore me to tears.

Talk about shallow, the men here make Jean Harlow sound as deep as Virginia Wolff. And being over 50 I am mostly invisible unless I do deep leather and try to look tough, not my idea for romantic starters.

@Grateful4you yuck. But there's no one else your age or with any intellect?
@abe182 I havent tried the nursing homes yet. In all honesty, curling up with my cat sounds more appealing by the moment. I think I'll become a reclusive poet, dressed all in black, buy a potted plant, heavy draperies kept shut tight, Ann Leaf organ music in the background, occasionally peering down threw the curtains as the pedestrian youth saunters by, Sans Sousi...Then someday I'll be famous and they'll all say, "Wasn't that the old faggot in the mouldy old house who used to leer at us?.."Nah" they will say, just another tired ol' drag queen wishing she could afford a house in the movie colony instead of Palm Canyon Ave. Poor thing"

G@Grateful4you I love Palm Springs and visit 2-3 times a years. Ironically changing one desert environment for another one ( I live in Phoenix) Like you, however, I am not a bar fan.
@Pauly I lived in Az. for quite a few years, (The Verde Valley) Did two restaurants then moved to Jerome which I really loved, it was like a flashback to the 60's there, Love it!

@Grateful4you I love going to Jerome! Such a fun town to explore!
