I Am A Loyal Husband... We have been married for over twenty five years and went out for three years prior to that - I am a loyal Husband. I watched a friend whose wife was pregnant with their second child cheat on her when he was out of town - I watched her divorce him when she found out about it too. Two kids, a wife - the house got sold - the marriage destroyed. Since that time I have seen the same thing happen quite often. Shortly after my Wife gave birth to our first child some friends invited me out to a night club with them - my Wife said to go - she was happy to stay on our boat - it was summer time. I went to the night club - felt out of place there but I got a beer. My friends - a couple who were dating were with me when a Girl comes up to me as said her friend liked me. I looked at her and responded - thanks but so does my Wife. My friend's girlfriend heard me say this to this woman. My Friend's girlfriend comes up to me and smiled and said "that was quite a response you gave that Woman" and "you get extra points for that one". I was not looking for points - it is just the way it is. We stayed and listened to the music but honestly I felt like I did not belong there. I was happy to get back to my Wife and Daughter. You know something - they call them the ten commandments - not the ten suggestions. I am a loyal Husband, it is beyond the moral way to behave it is the correct way to behave. In life you make deals - and you stick to those deals. My Wife decided years ago that we should make love each day, we do. Let me tell you WE have a pretty good deal going on. The grass is not greener elsewhere, make your own garden - like the garden of Eden.

No, my husband and I are not absolutely monogamous. We are in agreement on this, we do not deceive each other, and we have been happily married for more than 40 years.

@Poppies wow... now that is an interesting and very unusual relationship which clearly works for the two of you... My Wife and I have no such agreement in place nor do either of us seek such an arrangement...

@pdqsailor1 it's not as unusual as you may think. We have happily married friends who are similarly situated.

I guess I am isolated of the situations you are familiar with ... and at times ignorance is bliss and many times bliss is enough... We enjoy bliss with one another on a daily basis, there is no Time or room in our relationship for others... @Poppies

Ultimately as you journeyed from a virgin to well married Woman, your "interview" criteria to select a spouse helped you arrive at a successful choice. Your decision has been and continues to be confirmed by all manner of pleasurable experiences. @JFinch. What I find disconcerting is that about 25% of the respondents involve themselves with others in the quest or belief that the grass is somehow greener elsewhere. While people like you and I know... that this is rarely true...

Oh - it is not such an amazing achievement. It takes a moral stance and treating your partner with respect. Love is about giving not taking and where there is a problem - then it has to be worked on.

Good - because those that don't believe in monogamy do not stay in relationships. I have watched the results of non-monogamous behaviour enough times to come to this very firm conclusion.
