I'm sure there is no standard reason but if there was, I'd guess so that they stand a chance for something with the woman without committing to anything.

A relationship to a woman is like a man's relationship to his boss at the company, does your boss tell you the whole truth or hide the truth and if he sacks you you are going to sue his ass lol, plus if you are happy there you will stay there.
