I Need Emotional Intimacy

Why are so many guys just into looks? I mean I know it's been talked about ad nauseum but I just don't get it. When I was still married I went out with my girlfriends and guys used to pay more attention to me. It was nice, but I felt really bad for the other girls, and besides I was married. Any sincere comments would be appreciated.

@samueltyler2: Doesn't intelligence help guarantee the future of the human race? I would think looks is not high on the list. Maybe I'm wrong.

@irishmolly72: yes, recently intelligence has become more important, but thought evolution, looks was always the first attraction, then ability to find food and help the clan, then child bearing!

That is not what I said. The initial attraction is not intelligence, it is looks, in both directions. Only when one is attracted to another, is there any chance to judge intelligence or to establish a "connection." Why is that/ I assume it is in our genetic code, since the literature about evolution suggests that this has been happening since the birth of time, and all animal species.

@samueltyler2 bilateral symetry which is what humans are mostly wired to find attractive is a survival adavantage. Balanced bodies work better and lend themselves to physical pursutes. Often, but not always, the face reflects that continued symetry. Also beutiful bodies are generally better functioning bodies.
