When you ask someone out on a "romantic" date who takes care of the bill?

Do you go by the same rule if you ask a "platonic" friend?

Whoever asks, offers, but if they asked, id still try and split the bill. And if they do and try to split the bill, let them, as it can seem really patronising if you insist on paying.
